That’s the question behind A Business That Fits. You may want greater independence, an income from something you enjoy, the freedom to work differently or the opportunity to build something of your own. Your reasons matter, because they should help shape the business you create.
I believe your business should support your life — not take it over. I also know how easily the original motivation can get lost once customers, money, expectations and responsibilities enter the picture.
Over more than 30 years, I’ve started, run and advised businesses. I’ve won work, built relationships, managed people and made difficult decisions. I’ve experienced the excitement when an idea takes off and the pressure when things don’t go to plan. That experience has made me interested in both the business and the person behind it.
What gives me real satisfaction now is helping someone recognise a possibility, make sense of a challenge or find the confidence to take their next step. Sharing what I’ve learned is part of that, but so is being curious about what you see, what matters to you and what you want to do differently.
You might be turning a skill, an audience or a lifelong interest into an income. You might have a completely new idea, or an established business that needs to change. Whatever your starting point, I’ll take your ambitions seriously and help you examine what making them happen could involve.
You can expect honest conversations, practical thinking and constructive challenge. I’ll bring experience and perspective; you’ll bring knowledge of your own life, ideas and priorities. Together, we can explore the choices and identify steps that make sense for you.
Having coached business owners for many years, I recently decided to build on that experience by working towards a formal qualification. I’m currently completing a Diploma in Life Coaching with The Coaching Academy and continue to offer coaching alongside my studies. While my formal status with the Academy is coach in training, I bring longstanding business experience to this work and hold appropriate insurance for the coaching and mentoring services I provide.
